Role Overview

We’re seeking a Head of DevSecOps to lead our automation-focused engineering practices across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and platform operations. This role is pivotal in designing and executing secure, automated, and scalable systems that serve as the backbone for our product delivery and client solutions.

You’ll be responsible for cloud security, infrastructure automation, and operational excellence — ensuring that development, security, and operations work in harmony to deliver robust, compliant, and high-performing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy
  • Define and implement the overall DevSecOps strategy aligned with UpScale’s technology roadmap and security posture.
  • Establish best practices for secure software development and infrastructure management.
• Security Integration
  • Embed security at every stage of the development lifecycle — from design to deployment.
  • Implement automated security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance frameworks within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement in threat modeling, incident response, and cloud security posture management.
• Infrastructure & Automation
  • Oversee the architecture, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Champion automation in deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications and environments.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization across production environments.
• Collaboration & Governance
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment on security and operational priorities.
  • Develop and maintain internal policies and standards for DevSecOps processes, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory frameworks (ISO27001, SOC2).
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on security and operational excellence during client engagements.

Key Qualifications

• Experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Security Engineering.
• Proven experience building and scaling secure, automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, IaC tools and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong grasp of application and infrastructure security principles, including threat modeling, identity management, and compliance frameworks.
• Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
