Applications Manager / Technical Product Owner (6‑Month Contract)

About the Role

Evoltech is seeking an experienced Applications Manager / Technical Product Owner to take end‑to‑end ownership of key enterprise applications and digital platforms. This senior role is ideal for someone who combines strong product ownership capability with hands‑on application management experience across modern cloud environments, legacy systems, and complex integration landscapes.

You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to maintain platform stability, prioritise enhancements, and ensure vendor delivery aligns with business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of assigned enterprise applications and digital platforms
• Act as the product owner, balancing operational stability with business‑driven enhancements
• Define, prioritise, and manage backlogs, requirements, and user stories
• Prioritise defects, fixes, and enhancements based on business value and operational impact
• Manage and oversee vendors, SaaS partners, and delivery performance
• Ensure all application changes meet governance, risk, and security expectations
• Provide clear reporting on application health, risks, delivery progress, and roadmap status
• Support system upgrades, integrations, solution design, and platform optimisation
• Collaborate with business units to translate needs into actionable deliverables

Core Skills & Experience

• Minimum 8+ years managing enterprise applications or digital platforms
• Strong product ownership discipline, including backlog prioritisation and iterative delivery
• Experience managing vendor-built and vendor-supported platforms
• Skilled in requirements definition, documentation, and functional specifications
• Experience working with legacy systems and navigating complex integrations
• Strong stakeholder engagement across business, technology, and external partners
• Familiarity with Agile, hybrid delivery, and ITSM processes (incidents, problems, changes)
• Proven track record of managing applications in mixed environments (cloud + on‑prem)

Technical Skills & Environment

• Azure Cloud (preferred): resource management, monitoring, app services
• Azure AD B2C: identity and access flows, application authentication
• API management and microservices environments

Application & Web Technologies

• Node.js: application behaviour, releases, troubleshooting
• React: understanding of frontend application structure and deployment
• Tomcat (on‑premise): application lifecycle, patching, configuration, stability monitoring

Integration & Data

• API‑driven integrations, middleware, data exchanges across cloud and legacy systems
• Understanding of system dependencies, upstream/downstream impacts, and integration mapping

ITSM & Governance

• Incident, problem, and change management
• Release management, versioning, and deployment workflows
• Audit readiness, documentation, and compliance alignment
