We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in mainframe application development, debugging, and API integration. Experience in the insurance domain and working within agile environments is highly desirable. This role requires hands-on development, problem-solving, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support, enhance, and ensure the stability of high-availability production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain high-performance mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS.
- Design and implement robust web services and APIs using COBOL.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex mainframe applications to ensure system stability and high availability.
- Work closely with both business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and provide timely, scalable solutions.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in mainframe development and optimize performance for mission-critical systems.
- Provide ongoing support for high-availability production systems and lead incident resolution efforts.
- Collaborate in an agile environment and contribute actively to sprint planning, delivery, and retrospectives.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of solid application development experience in mainframe environments, particularly COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS.
- Proven expertise in COBOL programming, debugging, and mainframe technologies.
- Hands-on experience with DB2, JCL, TSO, CICS, and other related mainframe technologies.
- Strong understanding of the insurance domain and its systems.
- Experience in developing and supporting high-availability production systems.
- Strong client-facing experience and excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies and successful experience working in agile teams.
