Position Overview:
The Network & Wireless Engineer is a key hands-on technical role responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing support of enterprise network and wireless solutions. You will work closely with SE360’s customers, providing high-quality professional services, troubleshooting complex issues, and enabling their IT operations teams to achieve operational excellence.
This role offers exposure to major enterprise customers across sectors such as finance, retail, education, and logistics — with opportunities to work on multi-vendor network environments and cutting-edge wireless and security technologies.
Note: Candidates will need to already be residing in Victoria with a valid work visa.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct network design, implementation, and optimisation projects for enterprise customers.
- Perform on-site and remote troubleshooting, configuration, and performance tuning across multi-vendor networks.
- Lead wireless network surveys, planning, and deployment using tools such as Ekahau or similar.
- Support security and segmentation architecture on firewalls, switches, and wireless controllers.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and network health assessments.
- Collaborate with customer IT teams to develop and improve Network Operations Procedures.
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer to customer support staff on deployed technologies.
- Participate in on-call or scheduled after-hours support rotations for critical incidents.
- Continuously develop technical expertise in SE360’s product portfolio and partner technologies.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering or operations.
- Strong proficiency in routing, switching, and wireless technologies (e.g. VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, QoS, 802.11 standards).
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst / Meraki, Fortinet FortiGate / FortiSwitch / FortiAP, or equivalent enterprise platforms.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and analyzers (e.g. SolarWinds, PRTG, ThousandEyes).
- Ability to interpret network topologies, diagnose Layer 1–7 issues, and optimise performance.
- Basic scripting or automation experience (Python, Ansible) preferred.
- Exposure to Unix/Linux systems an advantage.
- Experience in customer-facing consulting or managed services environments preferred.
Education & Certifications:
- CCNA certification required.
- CCNP or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Wireless certifications (CWNA, ECSE, or vendor-specific) advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Networking, or related discipline preferred.
