Candidate Name
I am an artificial intelligence researcher specialized in multi-agent planning and reinforcement learning, particularly geared toward gameplay behavior and code-free authoring tools. I have worked in both academic and professional settings, including positions at Bitpart AI, Unity, USC's Institute for Creative Technologies, and the Honda Research Institute. In past projects, I have collaborated with research teams at Microsoft, Facebook, SRI, and IKEA.
In my academic pursuits, I have served as a teaching assistant or as an invited speaker for several of the courses within the UCSC game design program. I enjoy teaching students about Game AI, particularly planning systems, but I am also well-versed in machine learning, utility systems, behavior trees, finite state machines, and, more recently, generative AI applications using LLMs.
Aside from my core specialties, I've scraped Twitter data for sentiment analysis, developed an intelligent camera system for recording meetings, and trained computer vision classifiers for industrial use. A project I created while interning at the Honda Research Institute was approved for a patent (U.S. Patent 9501693-B2). I've also submitted a couple of patent applications from my work at Unity (U.S. Patents 20200122039-A1 and 20200122038-A1).
I love the work that I do.
